How to Prepare JN0-661 Exam in short time??? Tue, 26 Jun 2018 07:31:16 +0000 Juniper abriabby 132747@/discussions ]]> Passed JNCIA-Junos (JN0-102) Fri, 07 Sep 2018 20:08:20 +0000 Juniper matt333 133585@/discussions
I used:
Udemy's course on the JNCIA-Junos (very good but not enough to pass without any hands on)
Junos Routing book by O'Reilly (maybe the first two chapters)
A lot of hands on experience as I use Junos everyday ( All Juniper shop)

Also something to note that if you are doing a exam from your home or office you can't use any paper or a pens which I found ridiculous so I had to subnet and counting bits in the air which wasn't very fun as I'm used to being able to write it down. I'm not sure if you can use paper and a pen at a Pearson Vue office but I wanted to mention it as something that threw me off.

on to JNCIS-DevOps (before Oct 1 as Juniper changed the prerequisite)]]>
Juniper Open Learning: JNCIA-Junos, JNCIA-Cloud, and...JNCDA! Mon, 13 Aug 2018 08:50:49 +0000 Juniper victor.s.andrei 133303@/discussions three certifications - and they are all free, including the training and the voucher!

I just spotted the last one (Juniper Networks Certified Design Associate) a few minutes ago...and found out that I'm the first person registered. :D

If you are looking for a particular certification, and a cohort is not available (because the only ones are full or closed to new registrations), keep an eye out. The folks at Juniper open up new cohorts every so often.:D]]>

JNCIX-SP, here I come! Wed, 27 Aug 2014 09:12:54 +0000 Juniper PsychoFin 103609@/discussions My plan is to climb all the way up to JNCIE-SP, starting with the JNCIS-SP. I have an MX480 that I can use for lab purposes, so I will be looking to create logical systems to simulate the topology from the JNCIX-M books.

My reading material will be the following:

JNCIA-M/T Study Guide
JNCIS-M/T Study Guide
JNCIP-M/T Study Guide
JNCIE-M/T Study Guide
JNCIS fast track study guides
various study guides from juniper courses that I have attended

I will be starting by going through the JNCIS-SP study guides on the fast track and building a topology of logical systems on the mx480.

My plan is to write up my study experiences here, documenting interesting stuff and kind of use this thread as my blog I suppose. I've enjoyed TE for a long time, so I want to keep the info here in the hopes that it will help others on the same journey! :)]]>

JNCIS-ENT Study Materials Wed, 13 Jun 2018 16:34:46 +0000 Juniper kMastaFlash 132612@/discussions
Hope everyone is having a good day!! I passed the JNCIA back in April and I was looking at taking the JNCIS-ENT to supplement my CCNA R&S certification. I used CBT Nuggets and INE for my JNCIA studies. However, the higher level certifications do not have any study materials at an affordable price for the JNCIS-ENT. Ex: the JNCIS-ENT routing and switching on demand training from Juniper is almost 3.2k for 2 courses!!!!!! That is crazy expensive. Does anyone know of any training for the JNCIS-ENT that is reasonably priced? I found 1 course on CBT Nuggets for JNCIS-ENT but it is for the older exam objectives. Thanks all!!]]>

Im putting to end this "if you took the ccna you can pass the jn0-102 rumor." The 102 stands on its own. I will respect the NDA, but i will stand on this - the CCNA does not cover enough to pass the 102. A ccnp, 6 years of experience and materials and a class barely passed it.

So yea, finally got the 102, and it is a respectable exam.

I don't know if I just got over confident, having passed the previous 7 exams successfully in a row.

I admit, I didn't study as hard as I should have.

OTOH, the study materials were kinda lame. The other exams, I actually had a text book, took a week long course, had practice tests, etc. With Juniper all I really had was 2 pdf's off their site, the genius app on my phone, and I went through part of their networking fundamentals course.

But honestly, like half the stuff I got on the test didn't even seem to be covered by any of that stuff. Like I said, I probably should have studied the material more in depth, but there were topics on the exam that I don't even remember skimming on the PDFs.

It irritates me that there are no real practice exams by a company like Boson or something. I went to Barnes and noble, but they only had stuff on cisco and network+, nothing on juniper. Part of me wants to just study more and go in and take it again, and the other part of me just is like whatever, I don't even care.

Have any of you failed exams? What did you do? Take them again? Move on to something else? I have to think about this for a bit before I decide what my next course of action. Just wanted to vent. Thanks for reading if you made it this far.]]>
Passed JN0-102 today on first try - A few tips Mon, 09 Apr 2018 13:27:44 +0000 Juniper jinbako 131874@/discussions
While I can't go into specifics due to the NDA, my first tip is to take a look at what Juniper says is covered and make sure you are comfortable with the material covered as the questions can come from any of the areas.

My second tip is to get hands-on experience with Junos. This is essential to make the exam easier. Used devices are readily available and affordable online and having a device to actually work on would go a long way in helping someone pass the exam.

This exam is not necessarily a difficult exam but if one doesn't have the theory coupled with hands-on expereince with the Junos OS, it will become much more challenging.]]>
