    Default Passed N+

Going through WGU Network operations and Security program. I probably haven't studied near this hard for any test in my life to be honest. As usual CompTIA is an inch deep and a mile wide. Well honestly it felt like the N+ was about 10 miles wide. For a a networking test I felt it didn't have enough actual networking and hit on obscure items that indirectly deal with networks.

I used Ucertify (WGU), Todd Lammle's N10-006 book and Boson practice test. In my opinion ucertify is a waste, I know some people like it but for me there was to much fluff. Todd's book was good but the Boson test were a let down. I've been in IT for about 2.5 years now and really it was the real world stuff that got me through the test. I studied for about 5-6 weeks for it and did every practice test I could find.

I did ok, scored 832/900. Next cert test will be Security+.

    Congrats on the pass!

Personal suggestion for the Sec+: Add Professor Messer, CompTIA Sec+ Objectives and MeasureUps to your study sources. I found the content in all the CompTIA exams I did with Professor Messer was a lot easier to understand, and his videos are free with monthly study groups. The objectives list you can use as a 'checklist' to mark off each area that you have studied. The MeasureUp practice tests IMO are the best out there as they give you detailed responses to right and wrong answers.

It's only a suggestion but take it from someone who's taken the CompTIA trifecta.

    Certification goals: 70-740, 70-741, 70-742, 70-744, VCP6.5-DCV, 70-697
